Rules of Conduct[ | ]
1) Harassment – Adversity amongst players is part of the sandbox MMO PVP experience. However, you must avoid victimizing or causing extreme discomfort or distress to another player, as determined by Citadel Studios.
2) Explicit Language and Behavior – Lewd behavior, extreme sexual language and/or threatening descriptions or actions will not be tolerated. You may not use overtly offense sexual language, accounts of sexual activity or graphic descriptions that are explicitly sexual in nature.
3) Threats and Bigotry – You may not use any hate speech, racial epitaphs, slurs, or any other gender, sexuality or racially antagonistic language in Legends of Aria. Threatening another player for any reason is strictly forbidden. Threats of violence based on a person’s perceived ethnicity or orientation will also not be tolerated and will escalate the disciplinary action taken against your account.
4) Naming Policy – All user generated names and labels must follow the Naming Policy of Citadel Studios.
5) Instigation – Encouraging others to violate or Rules of Conduct, the Terms of Service, or the “Spirit of the Game” will not be tolerated.
6) Unattended Gameplay – You must be able to respond to a Game Master at all times when one contacts you while in the Legend of Aria service. At no point can you allow any combination of hardware, software, scripts or found objects to completely automate gameplay for any character or pet.
7) Staff Impersonation – Impersonating any Citadel Studios staff member, Customer Support Representative or associate of Citadel Studios is strictly forbidden.
8) Solicitation – Advertising, promoting or soliciting any goods or services other than in-game goods and services for other in-game goods and services is strictly forbidden.
9) Criminal Activity – Using the Legends of Aria service to commit criminal activity on any scale, be it local, state, national or international is strictly forbidden.
10) User Modifications – Changing or modifying any hardware, software, website or social media related to the Legends of Aria service without express permission or authorization by Citadel Studios is strictly forbidden.
11) Pirating and Contraband – Players may not submit or communicate methods of pirating the Legends of Aria service or any other pirated or contraband data, goods or services while using any Legends of Aria service including, but not limited to, the game service and websites. Additionally, players may not link or direct other players to sexually explicit or disruptive websites that could compromise a user’s personal network, hardware or software.
12) Hate Groups – Organizing and/or participating in guilds, clubs or other organizations that are built around hateful doctrines including racism, sexism, and other bigoted or hate-mongering philosophies will not be tolerated. Instances of hate groups in the Legends of Aria service will be disbanded and all active and inactive members will face account termination reviews.
13) General Services – You may not use the Legends of Aria service or the Legends of Aria websites for anything other than their intended purposes, as defined by Citadel Studios.
14) Sharing Personal Information – Account security is the sole responsibility of the Account Holder. At no point may you share or communicate anyone’s personal information, including your own, in the Legends of Aria service or on the Legends of Aria websites. Sharing account details, including account login and password information for yourself or others is not allowed. Citadel Studios cannot be held responsible for shared private information in any way.
15) Account Fraud – All personal account information must be accurate and up to date when registering and maintaining your Legends of Aria account and billing information. As Legends of Aria must be able to communicate with its account holders, you must keep your account email up to date in order to receive any and all important communications from Citadel Studios. Deliberate misinformation or misrepresentation is not allowed.
16) Game Master Directives – Being able to receive and respond to authorized Citadel Studios staff is mandatory. Failure to comply with authorized staff directives and requests will result in disciplinary actions taken against your account. Additionally, any abuse, inappropriate language or any other distress directed to Citadel Studios staff will not be tolerated for any reason.
17) Copyright Infringement – Sharing copyrighted material in the Legends of Aria service or websites will not be tolerated and citadel Studios reserves the right to request ownership of the rights to any questionable content shared. Please understand that copyright infringement is a serious issue and citadel Studios will work with the proper authorities if requested.
18) Haxxorz – Attempting to “hack”, augment, break into, decipher or interfere with any data that is relayed between clients, servers and the Legends of Aria service is grounds for immediate account termination and will not be tolerated for any reason whatsoever.
19) Exploitation and the Distribution of Exploits – All Legends of Aria account holders are required to report game, service and website bugs as soon as they are discovered. Exploiting bugs, glitches or other anomalies will result in immediate and permanent disciplinary actions against the account(s) and will not be tolerated for any reason, with the exception of the test server. Bugs found on the test server still must be immediately reported. However, due to the nature of the test server, it may be beneficial to determine the extent of the bug or anomaly. Sharing information regarding bugs in the live Legends of Aria service with anyone other than Citadel Studios staff is also grounds for immediate and permanent disciplinary actions on the account(s).
20) Accepting Bugged Items – Knowingly accepting a bugged or glitched item is strictly forbidden. You must report any player attempting to relinquish a bugged item either in-game or out-of-game or your account could also receive immediate and permanent disciplinary actions. Citadel Studios maintains the right to confiscate and/or destroy any ill-gotten gains and bugged items without compensation.
21) Abuse of the Reporting System – Spamming Help Reports, Bug Reports, websites, email services and social media for any reason, including assistance in an important matter, will not be tolerated. Intentional disruption of our services will result in disciplinary actions taken against your account.
22) Unauthorized Services – Playing Legends of Aria or using the Legends of Aria service with any party or service that is not administered or authorized by Citadel Studios is strictly forbidden.
23) Private Shards – It is the intent of Citadel Studios to provide a “Community Shard” system along with the “Official Shard” offered in the Legends of Aria service. Because Citadel Studios is directly working to allow multiple versions and instances of authorized community run servers and “shards”, playing on or promoting “Private Shards” or unauthorized versions of the game service is strictly forbidden. Sharing information, apps, programs, links or any other information regarding a “Private Shard” in the Legends of Aria service, website or social media is also strictly forbidden and will result in disciplinary actions on your account.
24) Spirit of the Game – In order to maintain the community and integrity of the Legends of Aria service; any activity not listed above that still manages to interfere with the game service, game transmissions game websites, social media and/or player accessibility and enjoyment will not be tolerated. Anything that breaks “the Spirit of the Game” as defined by Citadel Studios is subject to staff scrutiny, and disciplinary actions may be taken against the account(s) based on internal staff review for any perceived infraction.
Character Naming Policy[ | ]
The Legends of Aria naming policy is in place as a guideline for appropriate player names in the game world. The naming policy applies to all characters, pets, items, labels, signs and any other user generated content in-game and on our websites.
Unless names and labels are blatant and disruptive, Citadel Studios staff tends to allow the player base to report names they find to be in violation our rules and guidelines. Should your name be found to violate our Rules of Conduct, you will be contacted and given a randomly generated name. If you are offline or unresponsive to a Game Master requesting a name or label change, in Game Staff may change your name without your express permission.
Should the name or label be extremely offensive, you will receive disciplinary actions against your account and multiple account naming violations will result in permanent account termination.
Here is a brief outline of our naming policy and what is considered a violation when it comes to names. Please keep in mind this list is a list of our general naming stance and is not limited to the information below. Citadel Studios reserves the right to change any name at any time for any reason.
1) Offensive names – This includes, but is not limited to, names based on racism, hate-speech, ethnically derogatory slurs, disdain for gender or sexual orientation, religious preference, and or anything else that could be overly offensive in nature. The best rule of thumb is, if your name or label targets any demographic with an insult, it’s probably going to result in disciplinary action against your account.
2) Gibberish – This includes strings of random characters, excessive capitalization changes, sequences of the same letters, and any other intentionally confusing or impossible to duplicate names. Best rule of thumb, if it’s unintelligible or meant to thwart targeting or reporting purposes, it will probably be changed and you may get an action against your account based on staff review. Furthermore, forcing numbers and foreign characters in to your name will result in a name change and possible disciplinary actions against your account for game anomaly exploitation.
3) Citadel Studios Staff – Intentionally using the name of Citadel Staff or Citadel Staff associates is a direct violation of our Rules of Conduct clause seven (7) below and will result in account disciplinary measures. Suffice to say, don’t try to represent Citadel, even in jest.
7) Staff Impersonation – Impersonating any Citadel Studios staff member, Customer Support Representative or associate of Citadel Studios is strictly forbidden.
4) Defamatory names – Creating a user name to defame another player, staff member, or guild is not acceptable. Additionally, should a name be created to defame a public figure or living person outside of the game world, Citadel Studios has the right to change that name for the reasons of defamation, based on our review. Another rule of thumb, if your name is created solely to defame another person, we will change it. Don’t be a drama queen.
5) Troublesome/Revered Historical Personalities – Please be mindful of other players when you choose any name that represents a historical figure. Obvious choices to avoid would be names like “Jesus” or “Hitler” as they resonate on deep emotional levels for different reasons across the human spectrum. While the name in question may seem benign or you may be a fan of that person; if enough players petition the name, we will consider changing the name should we find it to be disruptive, regardless of intent. Best rule of thumb here: Leave the real world and its figures behind while in Legends of Aria!
6) Copyrights and Trademarks – Names that our found violating third party copyrights and trademarks may be changed to protect the Legends of Aria service to avoid any copyright infringement issues in the future. Basically, don’t be a corporate t-shirt or pop-culture advertisement; you are more creative than that!
7) You Are Not Clever – Any attempt to bypass the naming policy and the naming filter with alternate spellings, homonyms, masked language, letter or word reversal, and/or any other cipher intent on bypassing the above policies will result in a name change and disciplinary action will be taken against the account.
8) Casual Name Changing – Citadel Studios is exploring options for the ability for users to change their names in the future. Until an option has been decided upon, we do not currently offer any name changing services unless the name violates one of our policies as determined by Citadel Studios staff. Please be careful when choosing your name as it is currently non-reversible!
