Description

Fish is a fishing ability and allows for the catching of fish.

Fish ability status messages[]

Using the Fish ability can return these status messages.

Fishing Status Messages
Message	Reason
You need to cast into water to Fish!	The location is not a valid target for the Fish ability. If you think it should be a valid location, try rotating the camera.
That location is too far away.	The targeted location is too far from the player for the Fish ability. If you think it should be a valid location, try rotating the camera.
The line snaps!	Your character was moved or interrupted while using the Fish ability.
You are already fishing.	You attempted to use the Fish ability but it is already in use.
There doesn't seem to be any fish nearby.	The location targeted with the Fish ability has been depleted of fish, or fish do not spawn in the targeted area.
You haven't found any fish.	You failed to pass the first Fishing skill check. The Fish ability is reset and may be used again.
Something is hooked on the line!	You passed the first Fishing skill check and begin to reel in a fish.
`fish type` got away!	You did not pass the second Fishing skill check to catch the fish you were reeling in. The Fish ability is reset and may be used again.
You caught a `fish type`! It's `size`	You successfully passed the second Fishing skill check and reeled in a fish. The exact message text will indicate the type of fish and its size: Small Fish: It's not very big… Large Fish: It's healthy looking! Huge Fish: It's huge! It's a good catch! Legendary Fish: It's mythical! Tales have been told of fish this size. Such things, were thought to be impossible until now! Eg: catching a Huge Tero Fish will display "You caught a Tero Fish! It's a good catch!" The Fish ability is reset and may be used again.
You found a treasure map!	You successfully passed the second Fishing skill check and fished up a treasure map. A higher fishing skill increases the level of maps included in the loot table. The Fish ability is reset and may be used again.
