Legends of Aria is a skill-based sandbox MMORPG. In that matter, you are not stuck with a specific structured set of classes/professions, nor limited to where you can go or having to follow a specific story-line to evolve.

Thus the initial choices you will make are not going to limit the evolution of your character's skills.

However there are limits on the maximum amount of skills, stats and abilities points you can train. Certain tools, Weapons, armors and abilities might have specific requirements.

Celador offers protected areas where you can fairly safely roam through, but there are a number of unprotected areas where Open PVP is enabled, beyond the fact that higher level beasts also exist in those. You might want to make sure you achieve a comfortable level of skills and experience with the game before to navigate through those.

Online maps (static and interactive) do exist to help you navigate Celador.

New Player Guide

Character Creation

Upon character creation players are allocated 100 skill points that can be distributed between four skills, you're presented with 4 different starter templates however this choice doesn't have to be permanent for your characters, these are just initial set of skills for your character. You can even alter the skills of the starter templates, for example replacing Slashing on the warrior template with Bashing.

Skills

Legends of Aria relies on a proficiency based system, therefore skill points are gained by performing actions. There are currently 29 skills available, each character's skills are capped at a total of 600 skill points.

This enables you to have 6 skills at 100 skill each or any other combination with a total of 600 skill points.

Don't be afraid to pick up more than 6 skills on your characters at first, since maxing out skills takes quite a while.

Stats

Most activities in Legends of Aria which perform any form of success/failure checking are either dependent on or affected by the stats and/or the skill of the character performing them. There are six stats for players which affect proficiency at certain activities. Stats increase when a player successfully performs an action tied to that stat. For example, fighting with a weapon will affect strength & agility.

Upon character creation, the starting value of each stat is 20. A stat's minimum possible value is 10. The maximum value for any stat is 50. The maximum total value of all stats is 150.

  • Strength Increases attack damage and weight capacity in your backpack.
  • Agility Increases stamina pool and attack speed.
  • Intellect Increases mana pool and slightly boost spells damage.
  • Constitution Increases health pool
  • Wisdom Decrease the damage you take from enemy spells, like a magic resistance.
  • Will Reduces chance to be stunned.

Warrior

Starting skills

  • Slashing - This is a melee skill, it governs your chance to hit with slashing weapons.
  • Vigor - Increases damage output of weapons and the amount of health recovered by healing.
  • Healing - Governs the amount of health healed with bandages, can also cure poison and resurrect other players.
  • Blocking - Your chance to block attacks with a shield.

Playstyle

Warriors are upfront damage dealers, you'll be auto-attacking your melee targets, each weapon have two different abilities that can be performed, such as Overpower or Mortal Strike. Abilities differ on different weapons.

At a later stage you can learn Prestige Abilities which gives you additional actions to perform.

Your primary means of restoring health is with bandages, in tough spots you can drink a potion and between combat you can eat food which also restores health.

Warriors are a recommended starting template since they don't require any expensive resources, are easy to play and a good starting point to earn some money.

Initial Build

You can visit a NPC trainer to purchase skill training to 30.0 for 3 silver, which is an excellent way to get a head start in a new skill.

Skills About Stats
Weapon skill Slashing, Bashing, Piercing or Lancing Strenght 40
Vigor To increase your weapon damage and healing with bandages. Agility 30
Healing To recover health with bandages. Intellect 10
Blocking Decrease damage taken by blocking attacks with a shield. Constituion 30
Armor skill Light or Heavy Armor proficiency, decreases damage taken. Wisdom 30
Fabrication Up to 25.0 to craft bolt of cloth which can be turned into bandages. Will 10

Mage

Starting skills

Playstyle

Mages are able to cast a variety of spells to deal damage, restore health, create teleportation runes, open portals, resurrect players, etc.

Spells are divided into two different schools of magic. Evocation spells are offensive and damage dealing, while Manifestation spells are your healing and supportive spells.

When adventuring you'll be casting spells on enemies, preferably at some distance to avoid taking damage. Kiting enemies by slowing them down with spells. Healing yourself and your allies with the heal or Greater Heal spells.

Training a mage can be expensive, since each spell has a resource cost in the form of reagents. Make sure that you earn enough copper from each kill to resupply the reagents used.

Because of this it's recommended to train your evocation skill first, by killing enemies, to earn enough copper to train your other skills.

Initial Build

You can visit a NPC trainer to purchase skill training to 30.0 for 3 silver, which is an excellent way to get a head start in a new skill.

As soon as you've earned some profit from Evocation you should purchase training for healing, vigor and a weapon skill. In that order.

Skills About Stats
Evocation Offensive spells, train this skill first. Strenght 30
Magic Affinity Increases your spell damage, this skill will raise naturally alongside Evocation. Agility 10
Channeling Recovers mana, this skill will raise naturally when casting spells. Intellect 45
Healing Heal yourself with bandages to begin with

until you start training your Manifestation skill

Constituion 30
Vigor Increases healing received with bandages, this skill will raise naturally when healing or using weapons. Wisdom 25
Weapon skill Slashing, Bashing, Piercing or Lancing

Use a weapon to finish off enemies if you've run out of mana or if you've run out of reagents

Will 10
Manifestation Start training your manifestation once you have a steady income of copper from evocation
Fabrication Up to 25.0 to craft bolt of cloth which can be turned into bandages.

This starting build uses 8 skills, when you start reaching the total maximum of 600.0 skill points you can lower the skills you don't want or need anymore.

However you can reach

  • 90 Evocation, where you can cast Energy bolt with just about 100% success rate
  • 100 Magic Affinity
  • 100 Channeling
  • 80 Manifestation
  • 60 Weapon Skill
  • 70 Healing
  • 70 Vigor
  • 30 Fabrication

Before you even need to start lowering a skill.

Archer

Starting skills

  • Archery - Ranged attack skill, it governs your chance to hit with ranged weapons.
  • Vigor - Increases damage output of weapons and the amount of health recovered by healing.
  • Healing - Governs the amount of health healed with bandages, can also cure poison and resurrect other players.
  • (4th skill of your choice)

Blacksmith

Starting skills

  • Blacksmithing - Trade skill for crafting armor and weapons.
  • Mining - Trade skill for mining ore used with blacksmithing.
  • Bashing - This is a melee skill, it governs your chance to hit with slashing weapons, so you can defend yourself from bears and wolves near mines.
  • Vigor - Increases damage output of weapons and the amount of health recovered by healing.

Advanced

You choose your own starting skills.

Old guide

Note: a mage build is not recommended for beginners due to reagent cost to cast spells, finding or creating spells to fill spell book, even if the newer character creation system makes it easier to use a mage build, since it's now easier to succeed in spells casting (since not starting from 0 skills, thus low damage). The mage is great damage for PvE and PvP, but it currently falls off in longer PvE fights, e.g. dungeons, and fast spawns due to heavy mana costs. It is often recommended that new players start as a warrior and switch to mage skills when you have saved up enough funds to easily afford leveling your skills.

The system offers you to select up to 4 skills to initially set, up to 100 total skill points. You can select skills depending on the build you're targeting. Any skill can be upgraded later in game to 100 points, with a limit of 600 for the total of all skills.

Since mastering skills (100 points) is key to achieving the best results (hit points, protection, crafting, etc.), esp. for PVP, it is recommended to limit the number of skills to be developed, i.e. 6 to 8 skills.

Vigor and Healing are pretty much given for any character that are going to fight in PVE/PVP.

Some specializations require some skills coupling, i.e. skills that make sense with each other, e.g. lumberjack & carpentry, mining and blacksmithing, Hiding and Stealth etc.

Thus between 1 and 3 skills will be required for each "specialty" (fighting, magic, taming or crafting). Also, some types of armors are more efficient with their respective skills (cf. here under).

Example:

  • Warrior
    • Healing
    • Vigor
    • Slashing/Piercing/Bashing/Lancing/Archery
    • Heavy/Light Armor Proficiency
    • Any of: Shield (1 hand), Hiding/Stealth, Cooking/Fishing, Crafting

Notes:

  • The initial, fixed, set of stats is 20 for each and can be controlled through the Character window (up/down/lock a stat) during game-play, after the character creation phase. Min/Max for each stat is 10/50 with a maximum of 150 overall. Press C to open your character panel. On the left and right side are sections that can be toggled open and shut.
  • Additionally to attributes/stats and skills, you will be able to develop prestige abilities later in the game.

Armor

There are 3 choices of types of armors, more or less adapted to the skill-set you are targeting:

  • Heavy Armor - Higher damage reduction / loss of movement bonus from agility / no mana regeneration. This is recommended for "tank/melee" builds. Uses the Heavy Armor Proficiency skill.
  • Light Armor - Medium damage reduction/ No movement speed penalty / slowed mana regeneration. This is recommended for "agility" builds, e.g. Archer or Rogue. Uses the Light Armor Proficiency skill.
  • Cloth Armor - Lower damage reduction / No movement speed penalty / unimpeded mana regeneration. This is recommended for mage builds. No specific armor skill.

Melee (Knight/Gladiator/Rogue/Archery) builds

Warrior builds are beginner friendly: They don't have a lot of mechanics, are fairly inexpensive to start and easy to gear. you can buy your weapon choice at a blacksmith in towns. Crafting (Blacksmith, fabrication and Carpentry) players will offer better quality equipment but you'll need to start earning enough money to buy those or to craft equipment yourself.

You can use 2 hands Weapons or 1 hand, with or without a shield.

There are a lot of upsides and downsides to each weapon class. A safe bet for PVE is Slashing but there are other options.

  • Slashing - Steady Damage with bleeds Mid Damage
  • Lancing - High Damage (Slow attack speed with 2hands)
  • Archery - High Damage / Slow attack / Ranged

Attributes for Warrior builds:

  • Strength (Attack Damage)
  • Agility (Ability Usage / Movement Speed) Increases Stamina Pool. Latest Beta changed the pool value.
  • Intellect (mana pool) Can lock at 10 for pure warrior build
  • Constitution (Health Pool) This will keep you alive in PVE and PVP. DO NOT SKIMP. Pref 30 minimum
  • Wisdom (Chance to take 50% Magic Damage) This will keep you alive in PVE and PVP. DO NOT SKIMP. Pref 25 Minimum
  • Will (Reduces chance to be stunned) Not too big of a deal YET in PVE/PVP

Example:

  • Strength 40
  • Agility 30
  • Intellect 10
  • Constitution 30
  • Wisdom 30
  • Will 10

Reminder: do not skimp Constitution and Wisdom stats. If you are in an unprotected areas and get 1-2 shot-dead by a mage, that is literally the only reason why.

Mage builds

Example of a “pure” Mage build that is currently viable (credit: PosTROLLmaticc):

Skills

  • 100 Vigor or Hiding. You could take something else here if you wanted to.

Attributes

  • 10 Strength
  • 10 Agility
  • 50 Intelligence
  • 35 Constitution
  • 35 Wisdom
  • 10 Will

Prestige Abilities: Sorcerer and Field Mage Disciplines (others can apply depending on set of skills).

Starting location

Several locations are offered as a starting point:

  • Eldeir village: probably the most popular due to size/concentration of elements : a bit of mining/lumberjack is possible, there is a cotton field close to the center of the village for leveling fabrication and making bandages. Training dummies can be found after the town exit (bank/Inn side), on the left at the first crossroad. Sewers can be found on the side of the bank/Inn. Cemetery is close by as well. The portal to other towns can be found on the south cliffs overlooking the mages building. Chicken (for food) can be found downtown, and a fair amount of animals can be found for taming.
  • Helm: The favorite starting point for mining and blacksmithing. The village is more spread than Eldeir however (thus can be confusing to navigate through). Chicken can be found close to the main mine and a larger choice of animals in the area for taming. The portal to other towns can be found west of the village, following the road from the main mine.
  • Valus: Pretty popular, especially because of the vicinity of the graveyard outside of the city (additionally to the cemetery) and all prestige abilities disciplines trainers can fairly easily be located within the city. Chicken can be found through the city, while less concentrated than in the first two locations. A good amount of trees around the city for lumberjack. Sewers are located within the city, however, little to no Cotton can be found in the area. The portal to other towns can be found after the southern exit, close to the village.
  • Pyros' Landing: Is one of the most recent additions to the game, and popular with higher levels players due to the closeness of the Deception dungeon, and carpenters since the carpentry tables there offer a Salvage option. There is a Cotton field right outside the north exit (following this road also leads to the portal to other locations) of the city and a couple mines east (however less protected than in Helm). Training dummies can be found within the city limits, as well as prestige abilities disciplines trainers. There is a fair amount of animals around the city for taming.

Basics

Bandages

Those are a necessity for healing (besides healing spell or healing potions). Cotton and a hunting knife are needed to craft bandages. It is advised to put bandages as a shortcut, since you will need them handy.

Be sure to always carry about 50-100 bandages in "typical" land roaming, esp. if you target some areas with monsters, e.g. sewers. For higher level dungeons, be sure to carry 100+ bandages.

Also, you can use kindling to make a campfire. Standing next to a campfire regenerates your health. But those aren't practical in fighting areas.

Food

Another necessity in the game. When your character gets hungry, you’ll start getting notifications that say “You could use a bite to eat!” If you wait too long to eat, you’ll get the ‘Hungry’ debuff that states “Your hunger is causing you to lose vitality.” If you still don’t eat within a few minutes, you’ll get another debuff for low vitality informing you that you cannot gain in skills or attributes. This debuff also says “Your health is reduced by 10% and you must visit an inn’s hearth to replenish.”

It is possible to eat until your character gets ‘full’ which will stave off the hunger message for a while.

While cooking skills will be needed for fancy food and drink that grants benefits, creating simple foods to stave off hunger can be done without any skill invested in Cooking:

  1. Purchase a Cooking Pot (you can find them at an Inn, in town).
  2. “Harvest” meat from animals while out hunting (Hunting Knife required in bag), or fish (using a Fishing Rod).
  3. Stand near a campfire that you or a group mate created, or any campfire at other player's housing or bandits/Orc camps.
  4. Right-click on the Cooking Pot in your Backpack and choose ‘Open’.
  5. Drag the Raw Animal Meat into the Cooking Pot.
  6. Right-click on the Cooking Pot and choose ‘Cook’. (if you get a message about being “too at ease,” you’re standing too close to the fire)

Is it advised to eat at least 4 cooked animal meats each time the game notifies you of hunger. Chicken harvesting is the easiest way to get raw animal meat, but other animal can be harvested too, e.g. rats and bats in the sewers.

It is good to carry the equivalent of 2 to 3 meals (i.e. times 4 meats) to avoid having to run out of food during long trips or dungeons, etc.

Bread, stew and ale is often available at inns or general vendors which becomes a more affordable option once you start earning silver coins from drops. Those are also dropped from bandits.

Until then, you can "harvest" raw food from dead animals using a hunting knife or be Fishing using a fishing rod.

Tip: be sure to keep your character ‘well fed’ when you are trying to raise your skills - skill-ups are slower when you are hungry and will stop altogether if you become ‘too hungry to gain any skill.’

Horse

A horse is a faster way to roam through Celador, besides portals and teleportation spells. They can be bought for 5 silver in stables right outside of any starting location listed above, or acquired through taming. Be aware however that horses are pretty "fragile" and can be killed in the course of a fight (thus leaving you on foot if you're far from any city, especially if you don't use taming). Make sure you "dismiss" your horse before each fight (right click on the horse) so that it stays safe in your backpack; you can also leave your horses (and other pets) at a stable for 50 copper each.

Equipment

Armors, tools and weapons can not be repaired at this time, even though there is an option at the Blacksmith for repair, it does not currently work. they degrade with use (e.g. in combat) and disappear once they are destroyed. The degradation process is as follows:

  • New > slightly worn > worn > badly worn > damaged > badly damaged > destroyed

For such reason, it is recommended to keep a spare set of equipment in bank (cf. here under)

Money

Money can be acquired by killing monsters, achieving some stories, opening bandits and orc chests, by selling items to other players or traders, or looting other players' backpacks after a PVP kill. Money drops from monsters are usually proportional to their difficulty.

Copper is pretty heavy to carry. Copper can be converted to Silver (and silver to gold, etc.) when trading or storing money in banks.

Conversion: 100 copper = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 gold, 100 gold = 1 platinum

Bank

As your backpack carrying weight is limited (by strength), you will want to store stuff in bank. Banks in cities are "interconnected", i.e. your bank storage is the same for all cities' banks.

Also, because when dying you will leave on your body all your equipment and backpack's content, you better leave your money and anything of value in bank and keep your backpack to the minimum needed (bandages, food, etc.).

This is especially true in unprotected areas where PVP can occur, thus you can be completely loot. It is thus also advised to keep an extra set of equipment in bank.

Bank storage is limited to 200 items. But by using pouches, crafted with Fabrication or bought from other players, you can store a lot more (50 items).

Bank storage weight limit, like most other storage, is 2000 stones.

Karma

Red players are Outcasts, Orange players are Chaotic. Outcasts can not go into town, guards will attack them. Chaotic can still go into town since they are not ‘kill on sight’.

Normal guards will attack red players on sight. Super-guards (the guards that appear to defend ‘blue’ players) should not attack other reds innocently standing nearby.

Housing and Merchants

Cf. the specific housing page.

You can station a Merchant at your house to sell your wares. The merchant system is pretty straight forward: talk to a Merchant in a Settlement and they will ask you to lead them to your house. You can collect the coins from your sales by using the Merchants menu. It appears that Merchants can not be attacked or killed at this time.

There are some areas currently that are seemingly impossible to have your Merchants follow you through, such as an island - Merchants will not board a boat with you to travel to an island. Hopefully solutions will be implemented soon for these trouble areas.

Leveling Guide

Fighting (Melee/Archery/Magic)

Skill 0-20

You can start killing chicken in town, which is also good to harvest food. Training dummies in or around towns are also good to start training your skills and getting used to the game's combat system, as well as tweaking your settings, esp. keyboard shortcuts.

Skill 20-35

Sewers in cities are protected areas where you can increase your skills with more difficulties. You will also be able to start looting money. Cemeteries in Eldeir and Valus are also good game, with more difficulty, and a bit more distance to the cities, thus also good to start learning about the environment around cities.

Skill 35-60

The graveyard in the vicinity of Valus is a protected area providing increasing difficulty.

When reaching a level good enough for reaching mummies (45-60 attack skill), mostly keep silver coins and leave copper as you want to stock up money at this point (esp. to buy better equipment or housing).

Make sure to:

  • Stock up on bandages (100+)
  • Have Healing skill at 50+
  • Have Vigor skill at 35+
  • Lich Lords (at the very back of the graveyard) will require Wisdom to 20+ to reduce magic damage.
  • Avoid bringing your horse, you can easily get dismounted during attack and thus get your horse killed.

Skill 60-100

Several options are possible, all being with some level of danger.

  • Outside areas: Trolls, Huntress and Vile Spiders around the black forest outpost are high enough difficulty to improve your skills while making good money. However black forest is an unprotected area and thus subject to Open PVP rules. However, when killed, it is still fairly easy to recover one's body (if not already looted after PVP). Those areas are recommended when playing solo and in small team (team mostly to avoid being PK).
  • Dungeons: The Corruption Dungeon southwest of the Broken Spine mountains along the Lethe River (/where 669.92,606.2) is an increasing complexity area. It is located in a protected area but dying in a dungeon makes it difficult to recover one's body, since monsters are going to spawn back after a certain time. It is thus recommended to team up (5 or more) to get into dungeons even though the beginning can usually be achieved solo.
    • Start at beginning of dungeon do not push farther then your character can handle.
    • Avoid bringing your horse.
    • Bring 100+ Bandages
Corruption Dungeon Monsters Attack Skill Notes
Imps 60+ Can be handled Solo
Greater Imps 70+ Can skill be handled Solo with Wisdom and Constitution 25+ each.
Gargoyles 70+ Requires Group. Fast spawn very easy to get overwhelmed.
Gluttons / Greater Demons 85-100 Requires Group.

Taming

Taming Commands are: All Follow, All kill, All Stay, All Stop, All Guard [Me]. You can also use an individual pet's name to command just one instead of saying all.

To create shortcuts for those commands: Type /Custom in the chat window then write in Say "One of the commands". Press Update then pick an icon and pull it out to your hotkeys.

Levels you can reach/achieve with taming are on the taming page.

Tip #1: If you lose your pets, zone into the nearest city sewer and back out again, or use the stuck option and your tames should spawn in town with you.

Tip #2: If your pets die or get lost, they can be resurrected with sufficient Manifestation (65+ points) or Healing and Animal Lore skills (80+ points).

Beastmastery

When handling aggressive animals/beasts you can lure them with you for 3-4 sec then they drop aggro on you until you leave and come back. Just don’t stand within their melee range and it should be good.

Levels you can reach/achieve with beastmastery are on the beastmastery page.

Magic

You start out with 100 of each reagent. The important thing is to not to waste them. Raising your magic skills to something useful just by casting the initial spells in your spell book will bankrupt you quickly. So, for the time being, forget about the Manifestation skill for now and concentrate on Evocation to start. Being proficient in Evocation means can earn you coin by killing monsters.

The information in this article needs to be updated to the latest patch.

So the first thing you want to do with your new character, is to find a mage (or another player's) shop and buy 2 high level Evocation spell scrolls with your copper. But do not add them to your spell book. Instead, you want to cast directly off of the scrolls (right click). You can cast the spell on yourself, as at this level it does little damage (craft some bandages anyway). This allows you to gain skill without spending any reagents.

You can also try to ask other players, maybe they can donate some high difficulty scrolls (mid-level monsters drop loads of them). Even low difficulty scrolls will be useful - they can be used to kill monsters without spending reagents.

Next, find a training dummy and attack it with your staff equipped. This will raise your Magic Affinity skill. You want to get it to around 25 using this method.

You need higher Channeling for the Evocation spells to become strong enough to quickly take out Lurkers in the Sewers. Channeling is raised by casting spells and also by Focusing (press Q when holding a spellbook), which restores mana faster. So every time you spend mana, be sure to use Focusing to gain some Channeling skill points. With 10 Channeling, starting to focus fails quite often, but keep trying.

We want to start making money, so go take on those Lurkers in the Sewers. At this level it can take up to 5 successful Ruin casts to take out a Lurker and by that time it has nearly devoured your health. So watch out, if it gets too low, bandage, or even, retreat! Since you don't have much skill in Manifestation you won't be able to always successfully cast heal on yourself, but that’s okay because it doesn't make sense to waste reagents on that right now. Focus on using Bandages and, for the time being, kindling to make a campfire. Standing next to a campfire regenerates your health. However, be careful not to cast any spell next to such campfire or it will go off.

As you get over 10 raw animal meat from harvesting Lurkers, you can sell it to NPCs for some coin. Be sure to split the stack into multiple stacks of 10 before selling, otherwise you'll give some meat away for free since the vendor only pays you for 10 per sale. Every coin you earn should now go towards replacing Lemon Grass (Mushrooms for Poison are more expensive so it's better to skip them for now).

You can also explore the areas around cities for reagents to use for your spells. Some spawned farms can also be a source of reagents, as well as in chests in spawned camps (bandits, orcs or goblins; need to kill them to retrieve the key to the chest), and in treasure hunting.

Once you master skills, you can move to the next fighting level (cf. "Fighting" section above for suggested areas).

Cf. "Mage build" in the first chapter above for a viable build.

Crafting

Builds tips:

Strength: Essential. The more strength, the higher (50) the carrying capacity. The only must have stat for crafting. Many crafters do no wear any clothing to be able to carry the maximum resources.

Agility: The second most obvious choice. Faster move speed equals faster farming.

Mining/Blacksmithing

Start in Helm preferably. There is a basic mine in town, and a blacksmith right outside the mine. There is another mine, still in protected area north of Helm, with higher level Ore.

Valus has one to the North and one to the West of it. Eldeir has the Fremen Quarry North West of it. Other mines exist through Celador, with some in unprotected areas and some populated with monsters.

Some Important Notes on Blacksmithing:

  1. You will lose material, esp. at low skill levels! This is more of a UO-style crafting grind than anything else. Losing materials is part of the game mechanics and you can technically fail but still skill-up. It's all about the skill-ups. Just farm and get more materials. Get creative and trade mats.
  2. Craft the highest level item you can. Focus on weapons and armor as well as refining your ore into bars.
  3. You can gain skill-ups off of Trivial items, but don't count on it. It's just nice when it happens.
  4. Only craft Anthracite/Carbon if you actually need it. Use whatever reserves of those resources you have to crafting weapons and armor.
  5. For maximum power leveling, make sure you're well fed before you start refining/crafting. If you're not well fed, you're not earning skill-ups as efficiently as you could be.

Tip: as with other gathering skills, may want to transport your goods to a bank after gathering several hundred. don't stock up until your inventory is full and face losing over 1,000 ore at once to a player killer.

Lumberjack/Carpentry

Leveling up Lumberjack is pretty straight forward, you just need to keep cutting trees. When you hit lumberjack skill level 60, cut Blightwood in Black Forest and turn it into boards. You can cut Blightwood to skill lumberjack up to 100.

Level up Carpentry is a very long process since the latest update (no blightwood crafting). Cut wooden boards and then Ash boards and save them for future use or selling. Craft the items with the lower cost for your current level (starting with arrows).

Tip: while gathering you may want to transport your goods to a bank after gathering several hundred. don't stock up until your inventory is full and face losing over 1,000 Blight wood at once to a player killer, esp. because Black Forest is an unprotected area.
