The information in this article is up-to-date as of version Early Access v0.8.2.

Weapons are items used to attack in combat when equipped. They are available in 5 categories that correlate to skills: Archery, Bashing, Piercing, Slashing and Lancing.

Note: The following summary is quite general and doesn't completely hold true anymore, there's more of a overlap.

Slashing - Steady Damage with bleeds Mid Damage

Bashing - High Damage

Piercing - Low-Mid Damage

Lancing - High Damage (Slow attack speed with 2hands)

Archery - High Damage / Slow attack / Ranged

Bows can be crafted on a carpentry table using the Carpentry skill.

Those weapons can be crafted on an anvil using the Blacksmithing skill.
